Our commitment to animal welfare

At Janusfabrikken, we are deeply committed to animal welfare and strictly follow the guidelines set by the IWTO (International Wool Textile Organisation). We only work with suppliers who share our values and adhere to the highest standards for sheep welfare.

Our principles for animal welfare:

  1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
We ensure that all animals have constant access to fresh water and nutritious food that maintains their health and well-being.

  2. Freedom from discomfort
The sheep are kept in an environment that provides sufficient protection and comfort, so that they feel safe and adapted.

  3. Freedom from pain and disease
We practice prevention and rapid treatment of injuries or illnesses. We support a non-mulesing policy, which means that we do not tolerate unnecessary interventions that may cause pain to the animals.

  4. Freedom to exercise natural behaviour
The animals have access to enough space and facilities to enable them to exercise their natural behaviour, in the company of other animals of the same species.

  5. Freedom from fear and distress
We ensure that the animals are treated with respect and care, so that they can live without stress and mental disorders.

Our commitment to quality and sustainability

We are proud to supply high-quality wool products, while at the same time taking responsibility for the animals that supply the raw materials. By working with suppliers who share our dedication to animal welfare, we ensure that our products are ethically produced and sustainable.
